Spiky Pods

The pod picture I took a couple of days back reminded me of these pictures I took a while ago of decidedly less friendly-looking pods.

These are alien indeed.

I’m vaguely fascinated by pods and the things that spill out of them when they open. There’s something so alien about them and the way they “pop!” This one is actually pretty enough to be considered a flower. I have no idea what it is -possibly something I’d recognize more easily in it’s spring incarnation. [...]
