You can now browse a simplified It’s Curious interface at m.itscuriouscom/blog.

It’s optimized specifically for mobile phones or internet devices. At the top of the page a(nd also the top of the sidebar) there’s a mobile link if you want to switch browsers for any reason, no matter which browser or device you are using. On the mobile site the switch link is located at the bottom of the page.

I originally had it set to automatically guess which interface you wanted, but I found the mechanism quite bossy. So simply, replace “www” with “m” if you want to access the mobile version, e.g. “http://m.itscurious.com/blog.
Why add a mobile version? I mentioned a couple posts back that I’ve been accesing the web through my Nokia 770. It’s taken me a while to get it to the point where it’s reasonably reliable. On websites I can access, I have to admit it does well for a lil’ bitty thing. It’s no iPhone though. It doesn’t take much to overwhelm it and when that happens, it serves as an expensive paperweight. As a result, I’m always on the look out for mobile content on my favorite sites so I can surf faster. So why not start with my own? It’s definitely faster for me. Anyway, it was fun.
If you try it and have problems let me know, I’ll see what I can do. There’s one issue I’m aware of that I haven’t been able to solve. When clicking on the “...more tags” or “…more catergories” links in the mobile version, you get taken to the main page instead of the proper one. I’ll need to tweak the code to work around the mobile widget’s settings so please bear with me. To change it yourself manually, insert “/blog/” after “itscurious.com” and before the “?archives” setting.
